Leslie Park

Description

Leslie Park is a family community nestled between Baseline Road to the north, the rail road tracks to the south, Greenbank to the east and Cedarview to the west. It has a variety of affordable housing styles, including single family homes, semi-detached, row houses and a condo apartment complex.

Pride of ownership is evident in this mature area. The homes in this area were built between 1960 and 2006. Leslie Park has seen infill building as new as 2006, and saw a big change when the row units around Monterey were converted from rental units to owner occupied. Two floor plans that we think are just lovely the 2 story Cape Cods and the four bedroom bungalows which offer amazing space.

Valley Stream is a part of Leslie Park that was developed in the 1990’s by Minto. Here, the housing ranges from smaller condo town homes & rental apartments to larger freeholds and the popular “Sophia” condominium apartments. Valley Stream is also home to the Valley Stream Manor Retirement Home .The home is conveniently located at 2 Valley Stream Drive, near the intersection of Baseline & Cedarview, and directly across from The Queensway Carleton Hospital.

Leslie Park boasts a community park that is one of the highlights of the neighbourhood. The Graham Creek Ravine provides some spectacular scenery in many of the backyards of residents. Whether it’s walking through the green space for a nature hike or skating in the winter, Leslie Park has a lot to offer.

The schools in the area include Leslie Park Public School, complete with soccer fields, basketball courts and play structures. St. John the Apostle Catholic School is also close by, and has several play structures and a baseball diamond.

This neighbourhood is conveniently close to everything, as it is only a couple of minutes to the 416. Other amenities include the Queensway Carleton Hospital, a large library branch in Centrepointe, and plenty of shopping to be had at nearby Bayshore Shopping Centre, at IKEA in the Pinecrest Shopping Centre, and in Bells Corners.

The local Bassline Pub & Eatery is a great source of entertainment, with live music five nights a week.

Hungry? Why not try some of the great food that is offered in the area. Mr.Shawarma has one of the best family platters in town. There is also a great little bakery, Lisbon Bakery, that has plenty of treats and great home baked breads for every occasion.

With a large selection of affordable homes and the many shops and services close by, Leslie Park is a wonderful place to call home!
