From experience, we can tell you that anyone who has had an unpleasant purchasing experience generally relates it to not understanding how Realtor representation works.

This is how representation works.

 A Buyer's Agent is a licensed real estate professional who solely represents you in a real estate transaction. A Buyers Agent is working in your best interests and has a fiduciary duty to you. As your Buyer Agent:

 • Your goals and interests are our top priority

 • We will provide you with a flow of information regarding market conditions and property values

 • Throughout all aspects of the transaction, we will perform with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

 

The Seller's Agent ,or listing agent, represents the owner of the property in the transaction. Their responsibility is to the seller.

In some cases the Sellers Agent and the Buyers Agent are the same person. In this situation, called dual agency, the agent represent the interests of both parties and is required to be totally and equally fair to both the buyer and the seller.
