Why Seniors?

After my father passed away, my mother was now obviously alone and along with that harsh reality were all the challenges and concerns of caring for a house on her own. This coupled with the state of her deteriorating health; I came to the conclusion that her days left in our family home were numbered. What were the next steps?
 
As a Real Estate Broker, I was certainly well aware of the preparation and sale process involved, however, there were many other issues that needed to be addressed before we would be at the home-selling stage.
 
Where would Mom move to?
What type of accommodations would best answer her needs?
What was the difference between a Retirement Home and a Nursing Home?
What funding and health support was available?
Where would I bring her for health testing?
How and where should we dispose of a house full of a life time of memories
.....and the list of questions went on.
 
As an Agent, my alignments with trustworthy contractors meant confidently being able to prepare her home for sale - however that step was still a distance from our starting point. So, I rolled up my sleeves and dug in. Over the next few months, I learned firsthand what to do, how to do it and I got the job done. While it proved to be a very time consuming and often gruelling task, Mom was at last moved into a lovely, quality retirement home where her medical and personal needs were attended to. The family home was prepared and sold. Mom’s life was back to a comfortable, manageable routine. 
 
WOW! What a journey...it caused me to think - how many other people are in the same position as I was with their own parents? As I personally discovered, other than your family struggling to get it all done while maintaining their respective daily challenges - there was no one to say "I can do it all for you"! 
 
My thoughts challenged me - why not create a division of my Real Estate Team that could take all this on and provide a full service for Seniors in transition....and I meant "full" service. We would do everything - help you select the right home for your parents, oversee every detail involved in emptying the family residence and property as well as secure a buyer for it.
 
Having embraced the challenge, I successfully completed the "Accredited Seniors Agent” courses. I then hired a keen Team Member who took on the challenge of seeking out and aligning with top notch professionals who could help us with the details. Now we are ready. We have created a plan that will literally take care of all the details for you!
