Description
Centrepointe was farmland for many years and was developed in the late 1980’s, with a full range of housing – from luxury singles and town homes to more affordable singles, town homes and condos.
The roads that bound this community are Baseline to the North, Woodroffe to the East, the CN Railroad to the South and the neighbouring subdivision of Briargreen to the West.
The Centrepointe Community Association was formed in 2006. Centrepointe has recently added approximately 260 town homes, terrace homes and low rise apartments. This community houses the City of Ottawa’s corporate offices, as well as the large Centrepointe Library branch, and Centrepointe Theatre (which continues to expand).
The community definitely enjoys outdoor activities, including skating on the outdoor rink in the winter to skateboarding in the skate park in the spring/summer. Central to the community is a large park, complete with bike paths and a pond for your enjoyment.
Local residents also enjoy having one of city’s largest OC Transpo bus stations conveniently located just minutes away, at Woodroffe and Baseline.
A popular shopping area called College Square is in close proximity to the community, and is very popular amongst the local residents and students who attend the nearby Algonquin College. It is here where you can get all of your basic necessities (groceries, pharmacy) as well as enjoy the popular neighbourhood eatery Chances R, where they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Do you like Thai food? Why not visit the Baan Thai Restaurant (located at 261 Centrepointe Drive) where only the freshest ingredients are used and they serve a variety of dishes from mild to spicy.
