Buy Nothing Project

When ever I come across anything that may foster the spirit of community in our sprawling suburban areas with inviting names and empty parks, I perk up and take notice. The other day I was introduced to the Buy Nothing Project, where you buy nothing, give freely and share creatively. In your own community there are 25,000 plus people and the movement is growing daily.

You must not exchange goods for money and you must stay within your community. If you have something you no longer want, post it and see if someone else can use it.

I have joined in my community and they did check if I lived in the community boundaries. I am already compiling a list of items to give away and will keep you informed as to the results of my experience. That being said…will anyone want my washstand?!
