Household Hazardous Waste This weekend in Ottawa

Don’t forget to take time this weekend to bring your hazardous waste to be disposed of correctly. Do not pour chemicals down the drain – we drink the water that is filtered. If in doubt don’t throw it in your regular garbage.

Products to be dropped off at household hazardous waste depots include:

  • Aerosol containers
  • Propane cylinders
  • Disinfectants
  • Fluorescent bulbs/tubes
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Fertilizers and pesticides
  • Mercury switches/thermometers
  • Needles and syringes
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Paints and coatings
  • Oven and window cleaners
  • Pool chemicals
  • caulking

You can also return certain paint products and batteries to Ottawa hardware retailers.
