Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (CMHC) has some valuable fraud prevention tips to offer to protect homeowners and homebuyers from becoming victims of mortgage fraud. Mortgage fraud occurs when someone deliberately misrepresents information in order to obtain the financing for a mortgage that, if truth had been known, the financing would have never been approved.
